Off Color Picture
Zenith D60WLCD has greenish, redish and blueish color on different area's of screen, as if there is a degousing problem, what would cause this an how can it be fixed.

This is a normal problem that rear projection LCD HDTV sets have after a couple years of watching. The lamp is so hot that it starts to cook the tiny LCD panels. The problem usually starts out with a blue hue along the edges. The more you watch it the bigger the areas grow and soon the other panels start to get damaged. And along with this the fans that are trying to keep the optics cool get packed with dust making them less effective and it also blows dust into the optics.
The only way to repair this problem is to replace the optical engine. They now have rebuilt engines (normally a new one was over $1200), for $700 plus labor ($200). The part number is 3141VSN180C. Just remember the new one will do this again.
