Question: "Even on low settings the large burner elements have a mind of their own. Cannot use because they run full blast."

Answer: As you stated in your problem, only the large burners elements are mentioned as not working properly which indicates that the smaller burns are working OK.

If that is the case, your problem appears to be the individual Burner Control Switch (On/Off Switch) associated with each large burner element. This means you have (2) defective Burner Control Switches. It would appear that your statement, " .... they run full blast." indicates that each switch is shorted internally (welded contact). Replace the associated Burner Control Switch which means you need two (2) switches. Note: Turn OFF electrically power at the Main Power Control Panel before attempting any repairs. Usually, a 50 Ampere, 220VAC Circuit Breaker. If you are not an experienced Appliance Repair Technician, you should not attempt this repair. It is possible that there are other problems that are the culprit(s) but most probably the answer provided in the most probable. Good Luck!
