Self Cleaning Oven Problem

I cannot get the lock to engage properly for the self cleaning feature. It will lock, begin cleaning cycle and then suddenly unlock and cease cleaning. It will also begin to clean when the lock is not engaged and then shut off. Is there something I am doing wrong, or something I can do to get the lock to function properly?
