Whirlpool Stove Model Rs675pxgt12

while trying to bake, the door locks and screen pad states- door locked- so I can't check if food is cooked unless I let oven cool down and -door locked- goes away from screen. Is there a problem or is oven trying to self-clean? Or is temp sensor bad?
