'failure Detected'

The oven will reach preheated temp then show and error of "Failure Detected" and shut off. It appears that the broil is on even though I selected the oven to Bake? Do I need a new baking element, ignitor, or control panel? GFE471LVS is the model I have. Thank you for your assistance.

Follow the displayed directions "PRESS ENTER TO TRY AGAIN" or "DISABLE POWER TO CLEAR."

This message will scroll across the display when a fault is detected while you are programming a cook cycle.

Reset power to the product:
  • Power unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) for one (1) minute.
  • Power unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s).
  • Start a bake cycle.
  • Monitor the oven for one (1) minute to ensure the error code does not display again.
  • Verify oven operation.
