Connecting A Visio M550vse Tv To A Yamaha 5.1 Channel Speaker System

I won a Yamaha 5.1 channel speaker system with sub woofer, central speaker and 4 satellite speakers. How do I connect it to my Visio M550VSE TV? The Yamaha instructions are very basic. I am supposed to cut wire to run from the speakers to the TV (or stereo) but I am unsure where to connect them into the TV.

Depending on the speaker system, you'll connect it to either the optical audio output (back of the TV facing down (labeled "AUDIO OUT")) or the 3.5mm audio jack (back of the TV facing to the side (also labeled "AUDIO OUT")).
