The 3 fuel lines should be connected as follows:
- The (clear) main fuel line with the filter (filter inside the fuel tank) goes to the bottom of the carburetor (or the elbow shaped nipple).
- The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb.
- The return line (blue) comes from the long post on the back of the primer bulb and goes into the bottom of the fuel tank.
mall engines power all kinds of power tools, machines, and outdoor equipment types, and most small gas-powered engines use a primer bulb system for cold starting. The usefulness of primer bulbs is often under-appreciated until tool users go to start their machines and find their engine's primer bulb excessively worn, broken, or cracked. Cold starting a gas engine without a fresh squirt of fuel in the carburetor is difficult to say the least.Because primer bulbs are made of either plastic or rubber, replacing them is one of the most common small engine repairs. Tool owners should expect primer bulbs to eventually wear out. Steps and examples for two common types of small engine primer bulb replacements are explained and listed below. Reasons to Replace a Primer Bulb
A cracked, worn, or broken primer bulb is the most common reason for replacing one, but there are a number of other reasons why it might be a good idea to install a new bulb when the old one has not completely worn out yet.- When replacing fuel lines:

1. **Drain Fuel**: Empty the fuel tank to avoid spillage or leakage.
2. **Access Fuel Lines**: Remove the screws or clips securing the housing cover, allowing access to the primer bulb and fuel lines.
3. **Identify Lines**: Note the two fuel lines connected to the primer bulb. One line is the fuel supply line, which connects to the fuel filter in the tank. The other line is the return line, which goes back to the tank.
4. **Disconnect Lines**: Carefully detach the fuel lines from the old primer bulb. Remember which line goes to which port.
5. **Remove Old Bulb**: Gently pry off the old primer bulb from its housing.
6. **Attach New Bulb**: Place the new two-port primer bulb into the housing, ensuring a snug fit.
7. **Reconnect Fuel Lines**: Attach the fuel supply line to one port of the new bulb and the return line to the other port. Ensure they are securely connected.
8. **Replace Housing Cover**: Put the housing cover back in place and secure it with the screws or clips.
9. **Refill Fuel Tank**: Fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel.
10. **Prime and Test**: Press the primer bulb several times until you see fuel flowing through the lines. Start the trimmer and check for proper fuel flow and engine operation.
Remember, working with fuel systems can be hazardous. Ensure proper safety precautions and follow manufacturer guidelines. If you're uncertain, consider seeking help from a professional or referring to your trimmer's user manual.
