Tecra C50-c1501

Laptop is experiencing weak wifi internet signal while on battery power. It may drops off or disconnects while on battery.

As a solution, you have to Change the Wireless Adapter Setting while on Battery power. For that, follow the steps:
  1. Click or press Windows Start
  2. Type 'power'
  3. Click on Power Options> Change plan settings>Change Advanced Power Settings
  4. Expand Wireless Adapter Settings
  5. Expand Power Saving Mode
  6. Change On Battery: to Maximum Performance
  7. After following these steps, you'll have stronger wireless strength, but you'll notice your battery performance decrease.

Please note that a low battery of the laptop does affect the Wifi signal capture capability because the computer processor will not be able to perform at its best to draw maximum possible wireless signal strength from internet source.

What you can do is:Change the Wireless Adapter Setting while on Battery power using the following procedure

  1. Click or press Windows Start
  2. Search 'power'
  3. Click on Power Options/Settings
  4. Click on the Change plan settings link next to the selected plan.
  5. Click Change Advanced Power Settings
  6. Expand Wireless Adapter Settings
  7. Expand Power Saving Mode
  8. Change On Battery: to Maximum Performance -- After making this change, you'll have stronger wireless strength, but you'll notice your battery performance decrease.
