Toshiba Laptops L655d-s5066bn Overheating

The fan seems to work OK, but the amount of heat that comes out of the vent is very high. Almost can't hold your hand up against it, because of the high temperature. The life of a fully charged battery is about half of what it was when I first started using this computer. I bought a new battery and it fares no better. Harry Johnson

A common problem with laptops is dust building up in the vents. I recommend blowing them out with a can of compressed air.
