Toshiba 50hx81 - Audio Problem
I just sold my Toshiba 50HX81, which was working perfectly the day before it was picked up. The buyer has now notified me, very upset, that with theVolume up to 100 the sound is barely audible over the ‘fuzz’ coming from speaker. Is there any suggestion you can provide to me that I can pass along. I have offered to refund her the price ($50), but given their family circumstances (husband is a wounded vet), I would like to help them with some information.

If it was working fine for you and now is fuzzy and poor quality for them, it's likely one of two things: either interference from another device in the area, or a connection problem.
See if they have any other devices in the area that might interfere with the sound. Depending on the frequencies, it could be things like microwaves, Bluetooth devices, portable phones, or routers. If possible, move the TV away from those devices to try it, or move those devices away from the TV, and see if they notice any difference.
If they are having sound issues when playing DVDs or using other media that is connected to the TV, it could be a connection issue, either with the other device or with the cables. If possible, have them try using other cables, such as composite instead of component, for example.
If neither of those solutions helps, then the TV may have gotten damaged or banged around in transit somehow.
