What's Wrong?
Alright so when I play some games like Call of Duty: Black Ops it used to be completely fine. When I started using the Toshiba 42HPX95, the sound of people would just stop. All of the other sounds would work but anything that involved people talking was usually gone. It would sometimes come back randomly and then go away again. It was just as normal for my friend though. I would also get black screens that unless I banged on the PS3, it would just stay as a black screen. I thought it was just the game, but I downloaded another shooter game (Battlefield 3 Beta) and it started it again. Is there some way to fix this? Those are the only two games I noticed it on but those are games I like to play quite a bit. I have a video on Youtube of the Black Ops thing, although I doubt you'd just want to watch me. But if it were to help, I can send a link. Thanks in advance!

How is the monitor connected ? RCA or HDMI?
This could be an HDMI issue.
Typically audio is audio. It doesn't select between people and sound effects. If the voices are quite and the effects are loud there could be noise filtering that's killing things. Possibly a defective amplifier.
This will more than likely require a service shop to fully diagnose.
