Problem With Laptop

WHEN MY NEPHEW TURNS HIS COMPUTER AND THE MICROSOFT POP UP AND WHEN HE WAITING TO PUT HIS PASSWORD THAT DOES POPUP JUST THE POINTER SHOW BUT NOT THE USER NAME OR TO PUT THE PASSWORD.
