The Tv Will Only Come On For About 40 Seconds. Then It Turns Off.
My Sony KDF-42E2000 will come on for about 40 seconds then turn off. The fan will come on while the green power lighjt flashes 42 times then the tv comes back on for abot 40 seconds.

This sounds like a weak lamp, and it's on the verge of working and failing. As a result it will start up and then it cannot keep lit. so the set tries to restart and the same thing happens again, over and over. Eventually it will stop starting up and the "lamp LED indicator" will flash.
