Speakers

I recently purchased this radio and some jbl speakers to go with it. The problem is that the speakers are 2 ohm and I am getting a failure message when the radio comes on. The rear driver side speaker does not work (professional install, everything seems to be connected). The installer said that the radio is looking for 4 ohms from each speaker and shut it down because it only reads 2 ohms. Is that correct? Does anyone know why this could be happening?
