Change Language From Japanese To English

I bought a DSC TX20 in Japan, and it does not have english as an option. How can I change it. I asked a friend in Japan and he says that this camera if bought in Japan does not support English. Please help since I cannot operate it! Now the camera is in India with me.

Good luck with that. I live in Japan and order all my cameras from Ebay so I can get English. I know that Sony and Panasonic defintely stopped offering English for cameras sold in Japan. Canon might still offer English on their cameras sold in Japan, but better to check first before buying.

I should also mention that you cannot circumvent the language setting with a simple firmware flashing...they have protection against that. Trust me, I have tried in the past.

It all has something to do with how they want to set the pricing for the domestic and foreign markets.
