Trying To Wind Bobbin With Green Light On, But No Success. What Am I Doing Wrong

The LCD panel iluinated bobbin wind, but I get no power to wind even though I pushed the green start and stop light. I have pushed the bobbin to the right where it clicked into place. Thisis a brand new gift and I am trying to get started. I have used my mother's old Singer machine for years, but I am stumped.
