Prelude 8280 How To Put The Light On

just bought this machine singer prelude 8280 shows you how to change the bulb but can't find the light to turn it on also doesn't have the piece that tucks the thread beside the needle not liking this machine and haven't even used it yet

Have you looked at the manual, on page 8 it shows where the power cord plugs in & above it is the power switch & light.
