New Bulb Overheating

I have had my XV-Z10000 for a few years now. Never had any problems. I had a bulb that was going dim, so I purchased a replacement online. I installed the new bulb and the projector starts up, has a picture for about 10 seconds, then turns off. The temp warning indicator is lit. I unplugged and repeated and the same thing kept happening. I thought it was a defective bulb. So I returned it and got a replacement. But the same thing is happening. Is it possible that I have received two defective bulbs, or is this a problem with my projector? Also, when I reinstall the bulb that was dimming - the projector does not turn off and the temp warning light is not tripped. Thoughts?

Sorry I scanned through the quest - The projector model's service manual downloadable from here should be able to assist is much troubleshooting. It sounds like incompatibility issue.

Hope that is helpful.

The lamp has a limited life span - it may now require replacement. Read more on this from the projector's manual downloadable from here.

Hope that is helpful.
