No Sound On My Sharp Lc 37 Sh20u Tv

I have a sharp LC 37 SH20U television, the sound will not come on I have tried resetting all the setting..checking the mute function, However the sound will not even come through the surround system..what are my options?

I looked up this model and found one modification that was posted in 2006 that had anything to do with the audio. It doesn't match your symptom, it has to do with noise on analog channels and 10 seconds of no audio after changing channels.

The first thing it to confirm the TV is at fault and not the source, the cabling or the settings in the menu. Try various inputs and confirm the sound is missing. If it's bad on all inputs and the menu isn't setup for surround or SAP (should be set to "Stereo" in the MTS), then take it to a shop so they can confirm the "Main board" is at fault since the board is over $200 plus labor.
