Greetings. Pull out the batterry while the phone is running and replace it after a minute and turn the phone on and observe. Signal may be sadly poor on the other hand. The phone may also have defaulted to emergency mode upon failure to detect the SIM card, or when the SIM card reports the account is not valid.
You will have to contact your provider and have them check the account. The SIM card might need replacing, which they will do for you free of charge (call them from a different phone ofcause).
