Power And Play/pause Buttons Flashing. No Output

Pretty much exactly as described in the title. When powered on, the Blu Ray player flashes the power button and play/pause button in sync once every second or so.The player doesn't output any HDMI signal and I've attempted holding all buttons for over 10 seconds individually in the hope of triggering a factory reset.Any idea of what this light flashing indicates on this model?
