J027 is a jam code, showing the location where the jam is detected. That location is the entrance to the duplex unit (the unit that pulls out below the fuser). The code means that the sensor at the entrance to the duplex unit doesn't see the paper when it should. That could be due to several factors:

- The sensor could be dirty or defective
- Something in the paper path could be slowing the paper down or causing it to jam before it reaches the sensor
- There could be another electrical problem

When the machine jams and you pull out the piece of paper farthest along the paper path (closest to the finisher) see if the leading edge of that paper is wrinkled, bent, or torn at all. If it is, there is most likely something in the paper path obstructing the paper. If the paper doesn't look damaged, the duplex entrance sensor may just need to be cleaned with either a brush, a lint-free rag, or compressed air.
