Hi, some things to check include:
- The phone line. Make sure the line is clear -- no static -- and you get a solid dial tone.
- The fax cable. Try a different fax cable and see if it makes a difference.
- The sending machine. If this error only occurs when receiving faxes from one machine or one location, the problem may lie there.
- The fax board. Reset the fax board, make sure the battery jumper is set to On, and reboot the machine. If the problem persists and you can send faxes but can't receive anything, the fax board may need to be replaced.
