Pd3000ba Cd Tray Will No Open

This is a brand new unit and the open/close button will not open the CD tray.

The manual and the video posted are useless. Right out of the box, the unit's CD tray will not open. Is there a way to open this manually? Is there something holding it in that was placed there for shipping? Is this a common problem?
