There could be several causes for an intermittent loss of resistance on your ProForm 5.0 ES bike. Here are some potential reasons and steps you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Dirty flywheel or sensors - Clean the flywheel and any sensors to ensure proper communication between the flywheel and resistance motor.
  2. Resistance motor malfunction - Check the resistance motor for any signs of damage or malfunction, and replace it if necessary.
  3. Controller board issue - If the resistance motor and flywheel are functioning properly, there could be a problem with the controller board. You may need to replace it.
  4. Loose wiring - Check all wiring connections for loose or frayed wires, and repair or replace as necessary.
  5. Bad connections - Check the connections between the resistance motor and the controller board to ensure that they are secure and properly connected.

If the problem persists, it may be best to have a professional diagnose and repair the issue.

The intermittent loss of resistance on a ProForm 5.0 ES Bike may be caused by a variety of reasons, including:
  1. Loose connections in the resistance system
  2. Damaged resistance belt
  3. Worn or damaged resistance pads
  4. Issues with the control panel or computer

To resolve the issue, try tightening any loose connections, checking the resistance belt for wear or damage, and inspecting the resistance pads for any signs of wear or damage. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to have the control panel or computer examined by a professional.
