Passive Subwoofer Hook-up

Just got this AudioSource Passive Subwoofer but before doing some connections I need some knowledge from the experts. Anyways my concern is;Does Passive Subwoofer works if hooked up directly to my Pionner VsX-35tx multi channel reciever without any help of an external amplifier?
