I Am Having Problems Turning The Regulating Wheel For The Sewing Foot Pressure.

I can not turn the Regulating sewing foot pressure wheel. It is on 1 now and I want to turn it to N . Do I have to push it down or does it just turn. I do not want to brake it. Thank yo
