Pfaff Grand Quilter 18.8 Continues To Stitch After The Stop Switch Is Pushed

When i press the stop switch the machine continues to stitch and will only stop if the machine is turned off.Also when the needle down swit h is pressed the machine starts to sew and wont stop with the start/stop switch. This occurs in both the manual and auto mode. Any ideas?
