No Calls Or Texts

I have a Pantech Marauder phone that has stopped working. I cannot make or receive calls, and I cannot send or receive text messages. The only text message I received says that I have insufficient funds to send message. Can you please tell me what is wrong with my phone

I've seen a similar question recently. Apparently it's messages that the Carrier sends to your phone to inform you about insufficient funds or changes to your account etc. It seems that Verizon send these messages not through the regular text but a different way. If someone knows where such message data might be stored, clearing that data should help.

Can't find a link to that thread but basically the complaint was that messages keep coming back, dated a few months back, when pressed they open in messaging app, they come back even after deleting them. After disabling all messaging apps the message still came back, when pressed it asked the user to download a messaging app to view it. (All this happened without the original Sim inside)

I suspect something similar in this case.

Did you check your message history to make sure that there is no message that's actually trying to send? You said that this started as soon as you got your phone. From the fact that this message appeared I'm assuming that the phone wasn't cleared before sale so there might be a message that's still trying to send. Go into your messaging app and go to the bottom and see if those were sent by you or the owner before you.

The above is not a solution but a suggestion to someone who might know where such message are stored, and can direct the OP to that location.
