Shrinking Picture

Hi, my screen kept shrinking until there is only a 4-inch horizontal line/band/bar left. It used to be that after 30 seconds to one minute the picture fill the whole screen, but now no matter how long I wait (after turning the unit ON), there is no change. I open the unit up and saw what looks like some burnt mark on the power/convergence board, close to the cylinder-like black can. I am not sure if I need to replace the whole board or just the cylinder-like can (which has 2 red wires connected to it). Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, NickC
