Panasonic Power Back Ups
My KX-TDE100 PSU has failed due to power loss and I am told its not overed under warranty. Should this unit have been installed using a UPS or battery back to prevent the problem?

You should have done that way earlier.Check is the Three pin plug that goes into the wall socket has a fuse.If it does,pray that it has blown.If it hasn't blown,then the problem has been transfred to your KX-TDE.Check the KX-TDE if it has an on-board fuse on the power supply board.If it does check fuse if not blow.Likely bad new.The board may have burnt due to power surges.Remember the unit comes only with the MPR and power supply.You may have to buy another of such.In the worst case,even other cards can be affected and multifunctions.Perhaps you should call a qualified tech to have a look at it.

Panasonic Power Supply Units are built to last. But without an Experienced tech, with no knowledge will lead to this tragic incident. You already paid Top Dollar for a Very good System. Unfortunately, I don't think you had a Dedicated Circuit to begin with. And Second of all, I'm most certain there was no "Un-Interrupted Power Supply" to protect from any Power Surges, or Power Outage.
UPS - Does not Equal to, United Parcel Service. :o/
UPS- In the Telecomm Lingo means = "Un-Interrupted Power Supply" .
I would like to get the name of the person who installed this for you.
Reason being, I just want to make sure people dont make the mistake of hiring this "Company, or Person".. Good Luck.
