Thick Black Line Horizontally Across The Middle Of The Screen...

The bulb has been saying its time for a new bulb for the longest time, but I havent changed it yet (2nd bulb since I've owned projector) I took the projector down for the past 3 weeks due to homework issues with my son, we put it back up and now there is a black line 5 or 6 inches thick that runs horizontally across the middle of the screen (8' x 12' screen size). Will a new bulb fix this problem?
