Why Doesnot It Turn On After Being Charged?

i took a video and photos after which the message battery exhausted came up. the camera then shut down. i have recharged it using laptop and also iphone charger. while charging the top on/off button and the battery signals are lighting and flashing yellow. but it wont turn on.
