Using The Timer And Microwave At The Same Time.

When I have the timer on the microwave set (for timing something in my oven) and then go to use the microwave, the timer is aborted. Once the microwave time stops the timer is gone. Can't I use both at the same time? With my old microwave, once the microwave time stopped (food was done) the timer showed back up for the remaining time.Jill
