Maytag Dishwasher Model Mdb6759aw2

I have had my Maytag dishwasher for four years and have had this recurring problem with it ever since. The dishwasher isn't rinsing well at all. At least a third of the dishes, after they are washed, come out with dried on food on the inside and outside of them. They often come out dirtier than before they were washed! My husband has tried to remove the spray arm to see of there is food stuck under it but cannot seem to get it off. I paid $500 for this dishwasher and am very disappointed in its performance.
