How To Change Picture Brightness
I don't have a remote. The buttons are on the top of the tv. How do I change the picture brightness

Most of today's products of this kind require a remote for most (or sometimes all) adjustments. To the extent to which you can use the TV's buttons instead of the remote, instructions are on https://www.manualslib.com/manual/97682/Magnavox-15mf227b.html?page=17#manual. See the second of the two paragraphs for in this way adjusting the brightness, if that's possible. If the issue persists or if you require further advice, you'll have to consult Magnavox: use the contact information at https://www.contacthelp.com/Magnavox/customer-service.
If you determine that you need a remote, you can probably get a replacement from Magnovox [see above]. Otherwise, a good source for remotes is https://www.remotes.net/. For used, I recommend http://www.searchtempest.com/,* which will provide many useful filters, will let you search locally or country-wide and even globally, and covers Craigslist, eBay, Amazon, and many other sources.
