deleting the file should work. If it does cause any errors, then you can just put in a muted .ogg file and rename it to LowBattery, and the end result should be the same.

Use the Volume Keys during a call to adjust the earpiece volume. While in standby mode, you can adjust the master volume using the Volume Keys.
