Plastic Jar Leak. Needs Gasket

I own a KSB540 and the plastic pitcher has a slow leak. My inspection indicates it needs a new rubber gasket. I have loosened both the inside and outside nuts, but can't seem to fully separate the inside and outside parts to the blade assembly. Suggestions?

Go here for some direction in replacing the motor seal. It looks like the base screws will need to be removed & drop the motor to reach the seal.
