If you cannot access your hotmail account and you cannot change password via conventional methods (ie - through security answer), if first needs to be verified. You can initiate the process of recovering your hotmail account here:

https://windowslivehelp.com/PasswordReset.aspx

When you get your account verified and change the password, it should be changed to at least 7 characters, contain upper and lower case letters, numbers, and a special character. Good luck to you.

Maybe they might have gave you a new password, try looking through your emails and check if there is anythign that say that they changed your password
