No Sounds After Upgrading Sound Driver To Idt High Definition Audio Codec

Hello, My hp Pavilion dv3000 sound has disappeared after I upgraded sound driver to IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (it was prompted as a suggestion on screen).  There is a white cross in a red circle next to the sound logo at the right corner of my laptop. When I click on it it says 'Speakers and Dual Headphones. IDT High Definition Audio CODEC'. When I right click it and click Open Volume Mixer it comes up with 'No Audio Device is installed'. I tried to restore the system to what it was before I installed the upgrade but it didn't help. Please can you help me?! Thank you.

The audio driver software might not be compatible with the Operating System you are currently using. Based on my research, there are downloadable driver software available but compatible with Windows Vista only. The best thing you have to do is to replace the driver software that you are currently using and download the compatible driver software. I have provided the steps below:

1. Visit

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/details/hp-pavilion-dv3000-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/3661523?sp4ts.oid=3661524

2. Choose and click the type of your Operating System

3. From the Downloads category, click the "Driver - Audio" link

4. Click the black Download button at the right side of the page

5. The download will begin after a few seconds

6. Download and install the driver software

7. Restart your computer
