Hardware Laser Scanner Error

The likely suspect is the scanner unit which is an internal part. It may be that the motor driving the scanner laser or the power supply inside has failed. I would suggest running the diagnostics from the web link before condemning any specific part. A possible other problem could be with the mirror which reflects the laser onto the drum which should be visible, may have become dislodged,dirty or broken.
