Deskjet 2050 Printer Says Paused But Nothing Is Printing ???

I am trying to print a document with my HP Deskjet 2050 printer, but even before i click on print it says Paused. If i got to Devices and Printers and See What's Printing, there is nothing there. Yet my printer is paused. How do I resolve this problem and get my printer to work ? I am using Windows 8.1 if that comes of any use.
