What Could Cause My Genie Silentmax 1000 To Lose Power?
Last night we experienced a power outage in our home. When the power came back on, everything in the home worked except our garage door opener (Genie Silentmax 1000). The door is in the closed position. At first thought I attempted to re-program the remote openers by following Genie online manual instructions; but, the LED light does not turn on when I press the programming button on the opener.I unplugged the garage door opener and plugged another device into the same outlet to test the power source and the device worked just fine. So the power source is not the issue.A trouble-shooting guide recommended that I should check the fuse and breaker. Since all power in the garage is working, I didn't think it necessary to flip a breaker for the garage. My question is two fold; Is there a "fuse" in the Genie Silentmax that could have burned out and needs to be replaced? IF the answer is "Yes", how do I find/replace this fuse?What else could affect power to the Genie Silentmax? Circuit board? Other? And if so, can it be replaced?Thanks - Art.
