If Recovery Discs Are Used Will All Items Be Restored Before Hrd Drv Replaced

Comp. hard drive was replaced.  The repairman put in another one.  I can't get my external mouse or printer to work.  I have recovery discs.  If I use them, can I put a date (one just befrore drive failed) and get things back to where they were prior to that date?  I have reinstalled Adobe reader (online) and office 2010(have disc).  I have disc for my printer but won't install.

The answer is clearly no because once the hard disk drive has been replaced, you cannot recover any of the files even the Operating System of the previous drive. If the previous hard disk is still working, you can install that disk and recover all the files stored and store it on your newly installed disk. You cannot install some installers/discs because the Operating System might be changed by your technician.
