'error' Message
I have replaced the battery on the watch but it still displays an "Error" message. I have already tried holding down the mode and start buttons simultaneously.

Greetings - Unfortunately this should mean that you watch has been bricked - Your best option is to get the watch replaced through Product Support (if it still under Warranty) - Below is a quote from a fellow owner of the unit -
"This is a very common issue with the FR60. I've had two of them over the years and both have been bricked by a simple battery change. Garmin charges a very high price to flash the software if you are out of warranty as well. I have always liked my watch when it works, but this quite obvious defect has me thinking about other companies for my next watch."
