Lcd Display Code 1231?

Sorry to hear about the error on the server.  The E1231 code means  1.2V HTCORE voltage regulator

has failed.

 

Page 20 of this pdf will have the error codes.

Voltage regulators are built into the system board. You can attempt a general reseat of internal components, to ensure a loose component is not causing the issue.

 

If the issue still persists you can also try taking the system down to minimum needed to post.

The minimum components to allow the PowerEdge™ 2970 to complete POST are:

  • System board
  • Processor in socket 1
  • One stick of memory in slot 2
  • One power supply
  • Control panel and backplane (to turn on system)
  • Sideplane
  • Both PCI risers; center slot and left slot

 

But if the error continues you will need to proceed with acquiring replacement parts.
