Dell Poweredge 180as: Failed Dve Dso-142l Power Supply .
NASA equipment: Power supply voltage is +5.1v (good), and -3.8v (s/b -5.0v).
Seems to be a lot of failed supplies out there?
How much for a new supply?

Replace the Electrolytic capacitors one is a 470uf 10v ( 6.3mm x 15mm ) and the other is a 2200uf 10v (10mm x 25mm ). These are hi failure rate items. The -5 volt output is provided by a 7905 regulator. In your case the cap that supports that regulator in no longer functing correctly. Hope this helps.
