Difficulty Getting Scanner To Work

Canon MF4770n: connected to computer via USB cable. Prints fine. Attempts to scan met with "connect computer" on Canon screen. What do I need to do to get the scanner to recognize that it is connected.

I think akanetuk misunderstood the problem as your computer connected to computer via usb and prints fine but the scanner isn,t working than

It simply requires that you uninstall the current drivers, remove the printer, disconnect the printer USB cable, reboot the computer, and reinstall the drivers, connect the printer USB cable and reinstall the printer..Than use Print Management app to uninstall current drivers.Both the tool box and Windows Fax and Scan program worked after these steps.

check the usb cable that connects the printer to the computer, if that is working fine then yo may need a new scanning software/driver.
