Pixma Mx712 Displaying Error Code U052

My MX712 just started displaying error code U052 and is not responding to any corrective action. I have followed Canon's reset procedure but to no avail. Is there any way to completely reset the printer? Maybe a hard reset procedure that would allow it to function again? It is connected via USB and I'm using Windows 10 (x64) operating system. Thanks, Paul Ward
