Numerous sources around the Internet state that to clear this condition you should do the following:
  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. Press 1, then 9.
  3. Plug the machine back in and power it on.
  4. Press 1, then 9 again.
The machine should reinitialize and then be ready for normal service.  If this does not fix the issue you will require a service call since the most common cause is a bad image processor board which will cost in the neighborhood of around $400.00 to replace.
